My name is Ane Katrine Elander. I graduated from Design school Kolding in 2016 with a master in fashion design (Cand. Des.).
My work experience as an Intern and ass. designer at men's wear designer Soulland, Barbara I Gongini and sportswear company ATHLETE'S OWN has directed the aesthetic towards sports/ street wear. However, I generally work within a broad palette of aesthetics and inspirations, and love new challenges.
Due to my educational background and personal beliefs, I like to include a sustainable approach in my design.
I have tried to explore new ways of looking at sustainability which includes; durability, multifunctionality and use of existing ressources. Latest, was my MA-project where I used Duck down as sustainable ressource, in order to bring focus on consumer tendencies, and the fact that the issues of sustainable consumption is rather complex and deserve a nuanced focus.
I like to work in teams - as I find it rewarding to elaborate with a group of people where each individual are representing their strengths and competences - as I believe this will result in the most succesful outcome.
My strengths are in graphic design - i especially like Adobe Illustrator, Indesign and photoshop. I am further more strong in draping and pattern construction, idea and concept generation, moodboarding and trend-research.
As a designer I appreciate the subtle details, and like to keep a minimal aesthetic.
I was born and raised in Jutland, Denmark. But have since then lived 1 year in Sydney, Australia. 6 years in Vancouver, Canada and 4 years in Copenhagen. This has given me strong english and communication skills - and I find it very inspiring to be surrounded, observe and take part in other cultures.
